BT Distribution
In BT distribution, we work taking into account:
- The characteristics of the environmental conditions through which the route will run (areas without specific risk, classified areas, corrosive areas, etc.).
- The specific needs of the receiver(s) to be supplied (cable cross-section, number of conductors, insulation, and protection).
- Specific features of the route, regarding distances and separation of circuits of different technologies, such as crossings with medium-voltage lines or separation from low-voltage circuits.
ATEX installations
The industry applies the EN 60079-10-1 and/or EN 60079-10-2 standards for ATEX zone classification, where zones 0, 1, and 2 are for gases and zones 20, 21, or 22 are for dust.
In electrical installations, various protective measures are used. The most common are:
- Exd .. .. .., with its protection level, explosion group, and temperature class (e.g., Exdb IIA T1, for a propane installation in Zone 1)
- Exi .., with its zone definition (e.g., Exia, for an intrinsically safe installation in Gas Zone 0 or Dust Zone 20)
